SWEAT Good Practice Guide

Impact Consulting supports social development organizations to better understand and have greater impact with their work through innovative monitoring, evaluation and learning solutions.

Sex Workers Education & Advocacy Taskforce (SWEAT) is an organization with a 20-year track record advocating for and delivering services to South African Sex Workers, working at both a policy level and directly to support sex workers to support their families and advocating throughout Africa.

CHALLENGE:

Impact Consulting supported SWEAT to hold a “good practice workshop” with 19 national implementing partners that reflected on the wealth of learning and experience that emerged from the NACOSA-funded Red Umbrella Programme. They needed a way to present the findings that would be engaging and useful for their partners and project teams.

SOLUTION:

I worked closely with Impact Consulting to design a publication that beautifully and functionally told the story of the program and documented lessons that could be used to expand learning and improve implementation of future sex-worker programming. The finished result was a 75-page publication with custom graphics that highlighted the challenges and opportunities for the sector and outlined initiatives, such as creative space workshops, that other partners could use. I used only two colors throughout the document as a cost-savings measure for the organization without losing visual interest.
